Scheduling Fun

Happy December 14th! I took a series of pictures last night out by the Hillsboro stadium in an attempt to capture the pretty lights in the background. Trying to do that while also getting all three dogs in the frame while also trying not to use a flash that washed everything out AND while getting all three dogs to look at the camera, proved to be too much for one very cold photo shoot. Bess seriously thinks that the red light on the camera means that the camera will eat her soul if she looks directly into it. Hence why I end up with a lot of shots with her NOT looking directly at the camera. If you could only see all the out takes and deleted shots that I get! So the above picture was the best out of the lot. Because I had a feeling that things weren't exactly going to turn out the way that I had hoped, I also took a shot of just the pretty lots from the angle that I preferred, and that thankfully turned out well.:)
I have other things that I would like to catch up on with the blog, but I am finding myself very fast running out of time with various holiday activities looming, so my posts this week will also unfortunately be pretty short on content. I apologize that it's been a little boring around here lately! I hope that the pictures help! And I have some changes/additions that I would like to do with the blog in the new year that I will introduce once my favoritest holiday has passed and I can breathe again.;0)

And did I mention that I did a HORRIBLE job scheduling all my projects at work this week and next??? There wasn't really anything that I could do about it with the time frames that I'm working with and the various needs of the projects, but good lord! I'm running myself ragged at work and I can't wait to come up for air from that as well! (this is how this post got it's title ;0) )

Blogger Tuesday

Happy December 13th!! For today's Blog of the Week, I'm going to revisit a blog that I've posted about before and referenced in other posts. It's a blog that I would like to bring additional attention to right now, because this team is about to embark on a very exciting trip and I would really like for as many people as possible to cheer them on. The blog is Danes Can Q.:0) Kennedy and Vegas have worked very hard to get where they're at and I do not envy them the schedule that they have. So head on over and wish them lots of luck at the AKC agility invitational!!

And here's a few more pictures for today.;0)

Pictures With Santa

Happy December 12th! I would have had a Movie Monday for you today, but the Movie Maker program kept crashing my laptop.:( I actually captured footage of a deer coming down onto the "road" the danes and I were on and the initial pursuit. Definitely proud of myself for that one! Hopefully I'll get whatever the problem is cleared up this week.

And since I still have a boat load of laundry and cleaning to do, these pictures of the dogs with Santa are going to have to be enough.;0) Enjoy!

Home!!

Happy December 11th!! Everyone is home now and settling back in. It feels so good to be home!! I am trying not to think about how much we have to get done by Friday this week. Ack! The house needs some serious cleaning. Especially after lugging in all of our gear from the trip. The tree still needs to be decorated. The Lego Christmas village still needs to be constructed. And I need to get everything ready for the Christmas Movie Marathon on Saturday. Ack! Oh yes, and because I took almost all of last week off from work, I had to cram a metric butt ton of work into this week. This shall be a great reason as to why taking a vacation during December is not a very good idea for me.

Oh yes, and it looks like Bess will go into season any day now. Which is actually perfect timing! She should be out just in time for at least some obedience/rally trials, if not also an agility trial. And this works out great for the trials I have planned for winter and spring. Which then leads into her getting spayed in the summer! Occasionally these things work along a time line that I prefer.;0)

I hope everyone had a great weekend!! I promise to start taking actual pictures of the dogs now.:0)

Dec. 10th

Happy December 10th! Today is our last day in Whistler and all I can think about is seeing my pooches tomorrow!! Adam and I are going to do one more day on the slopes to help pass the time and then it's packing. I hope everyone is having a great start to their weekend!

Dec. 9th

Happy December 9th!! It's kind of hard to tell, but both the red and the green are in there, but the green is more muted. I'd lighten the picture, but then it would wash out the prettiness of the lights against the darkness. So you'll just have to take my word for it.;0)

Today has been another lovely day on the slopes! Adam's really getting the hang of snowboarding and REALLY improved a lot today. We were actually going down one of the shorter green runs together towards the end of the day. I have not too surprisingly discovered that I really enjoy skate skiing. Considering how much closer it is to cross country skiing, I shouldn't have been that surprised. And I love doing tight, sharp turns where I get to really dig in with my skis.:)

I believe that we're going to do another day of skiing tomorrow and Adam is so far game for trying a longer run, so that should be pretty fun! Happy Friday everyone!

Happy December 8th!! I am happy to report that yesterday's skiing was actually really great! The group that I got into for my lesson turned out to be at a lower level than I needed, but our instructor was great and was able to give me different challenges and grill me more on my technique. Once I actually got up on my skis I realized that I have actually become a better downhill skier thanks to all the skijoring that I've done with my dogs!

I hadn't really thought about it, but I've had to utilize a LOT of the same skills that I need for downhill skiing with my cross country skis while getting pulled behind the dogs. I'm way more confident on the skis now than I was the last time I was on downhill skis and I'm a lot better at last second changes in direction and speed. And here I was worried that spending so much time on cross country skis was going to mean that I was clueless on downhill ones! That was a really pleasant surprise.

At the moment I am "patiently" waiting for Adam to get ready so that we can head back to the slopes. I'm not sure what the rest of our party is going to do, but I want to ski a lot more today!

I also have some pictures to post of Ruthie and Remi! Many thanks to Diane for nabbing these!
