Web Site of the Month

The ceremonial start of the Iditarod starts tomorrow!! If you want a go to web site for all the latest on the race, the mushers, and their fabulous dogs, head on over to Iditarod Race Talk! There's a forum, links to web sites featuring a variety of information about the Iditarod, links to blogs focused on the race, webcams, and a plethora of social media to gain even more information about what's going on.

I know that I've said it before, but one of these years I would really love to go up there and volunteer for the race. There's so much more that you can experience by actually going and helping out in one of the many positions that they have! It would just be incredible to see the mushers and dogs up close like that. Granted the mushers are going to be in a bit of a fog and focused on the task at hand. Even so, just being around to soak it all in would be something!

The mushing culture is just SO cool. I know someone via a forum who has a small kennel full of sled dogs, and it's just so cool to see/hear about her dogs work.

Will check out the Iditarod link!
