Pictures With Santa!

Last Saturday I took the dogs down to PetUtopia for pictures with Santa. They had a real photographer there, a great Santa, and a great picture taking area. Last weekend was also the day of the dog show that we had an unusually late ring time, 1:30pm, and I actually had to reschedule our photo shoot for the last spot of the day or else we weren't going to be able to do it at all. I was a little worried that we were going to miss it all together and took the dogs to PetSmart just in case to get a picture with that Santa before Bess and I left for the show. Let me tell you, it REALLY pays to go to a quality shoot if you want to get great pictures. I haven't scanned in the PetSmart picture yet, but it's not that great. I was actually pretty disappointed. But that's what you get with an employee hastily dressed as Santa, in a little photo shoot area, with another employee with some random digital camera snapping pictures. If you're in Beaverton, OR area next year and Margie does this again, I HIGHLY recommend you go get pictures of your dog(s) there! It's totally worth it! Jim Stulting was the photographer and he took sooooooo many different shots of the dogs doing all sorts of different things. I was totally impressed! Here's the photo CD that we got with the pictures:
Isn't it cute how it's got the picture of the dogs on it?? Here are the rest of the pictures that we got!

And not too surprisingly today, after all the build up about the little snow storm that was supposed to hit over night, we got nadda. That's right, not even a single flake of snow. There wasn't even any precipitation of any sort until later this afternoon. And even that was a very light rain. So much for snow watch 12-09!LOL On the up side, it meant that I didn't have to go in to work today. Which meant that I got to sleep in! The dogs weren't terribly pleased about that and I actually had to shoo them out of the room once this morning. We always leave the bedroom door cracked a little bit so that one of our cats can freely go in and out of the bedroom. Otherwise she basically throws a fit if the door is shut all the way. In the mornings, if I'm not up before the dogs, Heffner guards the crack and waits for movement from me. If it's after about 6:30am, he takes any movement or my eyes opening as a signal to come in and encourage me to get up. Bess waits for him to be the naughty dog and then she follows suit.:) They're incredibly excited and happy that it's a new day, but once I checked out the window and saw a whole lot of nothing outside, I shooed them out and went back to sleep.
It has otherwise been a pretty lazy and nice day. I took care of some stuff around the house that needed doing. Got the dogs out to their favorite field for some crazy off leash romping for about an hour. I didn't quite get around to accomplishing the things I set out to yesterday, but oh well. It's been a really great relaxing day!

Your photos are great! Was Santa afraid they were going to try and sit in his lap?

AWww! What great pictures! We went today to the Seattle Animal Shelter, and while they had a good Santa and real photographers and a good little room for the pictures, our picture isnt THAT great. They put Darwin on the side of Santa so she could be next to the tree, but you can hardly see her. :(
She was super excited about the whole event so hopefully next year she'll be a bit calmer and we can get a better picture!

Excellent photos. We are only picturing havoc if we attempted pictures with Santa and The Herd.

What a lovely blog, I came upon it by accident but I just love it, Heffner and Bess are great dogs, I had a couple of Danes years ago and now I have downgraded to Dachshunds, they have alittle size in body but a Great Dane spirit inside. Michele and the Dachshund gang.
