Happy December 5th!! I do have to say that today was really a pretty fantastic day for us! Our drill team practice got cancelled this morning because we had two people at a CPE trial and one person out sick. That left only two of us to practice and it didn't seem like it was going to be all together worth it, so it got cancelled. On the up side, I was already up nice and early (our practice was going to be at 8am) so I took the dogs out for a hike. It was lovely out. Chilly, but great. They had lots of fun romping around.

After a couple of hours, we headed home, where I changed out of my grubby hiking gear and into more normal clothes. We met up with Adam (he was out watching some football with friends) at Beaverton Town Square to go say hi to some reindeer! We did this last year and I was disappointed because my camera battery died after only a few pictures. This time I was much better prepared! And guess what! The owner of the reindeer totally remembered us! Actually, she remembered the dogs, but same difference.;) Bess was still remarkably wound up for a dog that JUST went on a hike. She was overly excited and it was really difficult to get a picture of her that wasn't blurry. Once I gave Adam a treat stick to use to help gain her attention it went a little better. As before, the reindeer were so adorable! To be perfectly honest, the plan is to get a couple of reindeer (I've already looked into breeders) once we get a house with some property. I love them! And they're not terribly big. And their antlers, once dropped, make for great chew toys! Plus it gives me an excuse to create a barn for them that's Christmas themed all year.;) Here are the rest of the pictures from the day.

The woman who owns the reindeer told us that Frosty (the one with the large antlers) apparently fell in love with Heffner last year and was very upset after we left. I thought that was pretty cute! You see, it's meant to be that we have a reindeer! Apparently they already love my dogs!

Adam then surprised me with an early Christmas themed Christmas present.:) He got me a Lego Christmas village set!!
We promptly put that puppy together!

And after that it was off the tree farm to get our Christmas tree!! I'll save that for another post.;) It was a great Christmasy day! I hope everyone had a great weekend!

You're officially my favorite person of the day - maybe even longer. I've wanted reindeer forEVER and when I tell people that they think that I'm joking, or insane. I LOVE them! One day I'd love to have some myself.

You made my day!

Oh wow! I don't think reindeer would be too happy here where we live, but would that ever be fun! The dogs and reindeer are both really cute!

I love that LEGO set, too!

I think having reindeer would be a blast. Good luck with finding room for them. Love the leggo holiday village.
